Section L - Domestic pets
What you are covered for
We will pay £10 for each full 24-hour period of delay for extra kennel or cattery fees if the start of your original prebooked return journey by aircraft, sea vessel or cross-channel train is delayed because of circumstances outside your control. You must be delayed by at least 24 hours and we will pay up to the overall limit shown on the Schedule of Benefits.
Special conditions which apply to section L
It is a condition of the cover provided under this section that:
- You must have checked in for your trip at or before the recommended time;
- You get a written statement from the appropriate transport company or authority confirming the reason for the delay and how long it lasted;
- Any amount we pay under this section only applies to domestic cats or dogs that you own; and
- You must get a written statement from the appropriate kennel or cattery confirming any extra charges that you have to pay.
What you are not covered for
- Any claim that results from a strike or industrial action which you knew about before the start of your trip .
- Any kennel or cattery fees you pay outside the United Kingdom or as a result of quarantine regulations.
